The Critique

I would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered this show. I believe that this was the highest entry this society has received in some years. I have a couple of points which I feel I need to raise:
The movement in our breed needs to be addressed. Too many dogs move too close behind and lack drive.
There is no excuse for dirty teeth of which I found many.
General handling was o.k. But please do your dogs justice and stand them correctly- a good dog can easily be made to look very plain.
All my placings had good mouths, all had excellent temperament and coats were clean.

Puppy 2/0
1st: Budge's Teignstaff Baby Jane, 6mth old Red bitch, more Terrier than Bull, pretty girl, good topline, good turn of stifle, moved ok. [B.P.] Pleased the Group judge awarded 3rd in Puppy Group.
2nd Longley's Chez Blurry Eyed Surprise, 9mth Red Bitch, a little overdone for me which was the only distinction which separated these two.

Sp. Yearling 11/4
1st Simmons Rockcracker The Aggrivator, 2yr old Cracking Pied Dog, ultra fit but not overdone. Good head, neat ears good shoulder placement and level topline, which he held on the move. Short coupled, good depth of chest, spring of rib and good tuck. Well padded feet and turn and stifle. A very balanced dog. [ BOB ]. Pleased that the group judge awarded him R.B.I.G.
2nd Whybray Sunware Son Of The Valley, 20mth old black dog. Wicked expression, good head, neat ears, short coupled, just not as fit as 1.
3rd Gazzard's Sunware Dambuster of Brabason.

Post Grad 3/0
1st Cocking's Miekes Cassius Clay, Top sized black with white chest, nice head, neat ears, good stop, level topline, nicely padded feet, moved ok.
2nd Pink's Challimers Pink Floyd, Red and White Dog, super fit but maybe a little too much for me, nails surprisingly long for one so fit, short coupled, nice head over all a nice dog.
3rd Bottomley & Broadey's Kenmilltri Arms

Open Dog 7/2
1st Marshall's Marstaff Maverick, lovely black, very good head, ears, stop and muzzle, good rib and tuck, good topline, which was held on the move. At 14 mths this dog has balance and depth. [RBOB]
2nd Ower's Robrows Megan Macho Man, Black Brindle has all the virtues of 1 but with maturity, would like to see him with a little more spark.
3rd Egerton's Casworn Secret Weapon

Open Bitch 4/1
1st Gazzard's Mimco Daughter of Darkness At Brabason, good blend of Bull and Terrier. Nice head, ears, muzzle and stop, short coupled, nice depth of chest, good shoulder placement, rib and tuck Very well balanced and moved well.
2nd Rundle's Noirstaff Crystal Charm at Pirranstaff, heavier set than 1 but not overdone, nice head and ears, good rib, level topline.
3rd Cocking's Dusky Angel

I enjoyed my day immensely
